Facebook is slowly and steadily taking over all the big giants. Facebook is now not only the social networking site but also a hub for vidoes, images and much more. Youtube is still the biggest video sharing site but Facebook videos are catching up pretty fast.

You may have seen facebook videos being shared on your facebook walls but what if you want to share your/your friend's facebook video on your website? Well, lets see how you can embed facebook video into a Joomla powered website with the help of AllVideos reloaded component.

AllVideos Reloaded is the best component to display videos from all over the internet on your Joomla powered site. The best feature of AV Reloaded is the ability to add new players to the list. AV Reloaded doesn't have good documentation on to actually add new player to your AV Reloaded players. So here are some steps to add new Facebook Video player into AV Reloaded players.

  1. Make sure you have AV Reloaded installed on your Joomla site. You can get it from Joomle Extensions site
  2. Once installed go to Component-->AVReloaded-->Manage Players
  3. Now click on Add New Player and enter name "Facebook" and in the code section, paste the following

{xtypo_code}<object width="@WIDTH@" height="@HEIGHT@" >
<param name="allowfullscreen" value="@USEFULLSCREEN@" />
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
<param name="movie" value="http://www.facebook.com/v/@CODE@" />
<embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/@CODE@" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="@USEFULLSCREEN@" width="400" height="224">
</embed>
</object>{/xtypo_code}

Click save. Now go to Manage Tags and create a new Tag. Enter name as "facebook" and from the dropdown, select "Facebook Player" that we just created above. Save the new tag.

Now when you see a video on facebook, the video URL would be in the following format..

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=167533426624288 <-- this is your video_id

Now when you want to add a new video from facebook.. just use the tag { facebook }video_id { /facebook }. Here is the video tutorial I uploaded on facebook that I am embedding here.

Ever feel you're in the wrong place

404 (Page Not Found) Error

If you're the site owner, one of two things happened:

  1. 1) You entered an incorrect URL into your browser's address bar, or
  2. 2) You haven't uploaded content.

If you're a visitor and not sure what happened:

  1. 1) You entered or copied the URL incorrectly or
  2. 2) The link you used to get here is faulty.
  3. (It's an excellent idea to let the link owner know.)
