If you are living in Bangalore, you already know how is the traffic in Bangalore. Sometimes bangalore gets gridlocked traffic. Bangalore has over 2.5 million vehicles choking the city thoroughfares and makes roads congestions. According to the traffic police, about 10,000 vehicles, including two-wheelers, cars, buses and trucks ply every hour on the busy thoroughfare to the new airport.

So to provide executive, easy-to-reach-city service to business customers, Deccan Aviation has launched a helicopter service between the new Bangalore international airport and India's IT hub to ferry commuters hardpressed for time to cover the 40 km on choked roads. The fare ranges from Rs.4,800 to Rs.5,800 per trip and the distance will be covered in 15 to 20 minutes.

You can find more details of Deccan SkyLimo service at DeccanAir.com

On the other hand, Bangalore Traffic Information System  (BTIS) has also taken steps to provide upto date traffic information to the citizens of Bangalore. BTIS - Bangalore Transport Information System goes Hi-Tech information for Bangalore and now they have gone one step further and launched traffic cameras across bangalore to give live upto date traffic feeds to Bangalorians.

    @Sanjana,
    Its true that its little over $100 but I don't think that middle class people can afford to use SkyLimo service. They will still have to be stuck in traffic after flying 15-20 hours.

    Though Rs.4,800 looks too huge its just a little over US$100/-. And this I do not think is a big amount in a city where in some areas real estate is costlier than even the Bay Area of the US and also a city where hotel rooms are more costlier than in most parts of the world.
