This is definitely a surprise to me. Air India has reduced its fares by 33% for its non-stop Mumbai-New York flight from August 1st and that too on its fully furnished new Boing B777.
Business-Standard has reported that Air-India (Maharaja) took these new B777 delivery yesterday in Seattle. These planes would be used for its non-stop flights from NY to Mumbai.
The flights are equipped with the iThales Entertainment System which includes AVDO (Audio Video On Demand). Every seat will have attached touch screen and passengers can avail audio video entertainment.
Economy class fares are reduced by approx. 37% resulting in Rs. 50,700 (return fares excluding taxes).The first class fares has reduced by 22.01 percent resulting in Rs. 3,57,700.
The Mumbai-New York flight will leave Mumbai at 12.45 a.m. and arrive at the JFK airport at 7.10 a.m. (U.S. time). On return, it will leave New York at 9.30 p.m. (U.S. time) and reach Mumbai at 10.15 p.m. All first class passengers will be provided limo service at the JKF airport in Mercedes/Camry cars and executive class passengers offered Corolla cars.
