Recently Kerala Tourism has initiated an off season opportunities for holidaymakers. The initiative called "Dream Season" offers a host of packages at really low rates for a period of five months. This starts from May 2007
Himachal Pradesh governemnt started their online ticket booking and cancellations services last week. And now Karnataka tourism has revamped their website.
I liked the initial flash movie which gives the impression of zipping off and giving nice karnataka views. The new slogan for the site is "One state, many worlds"
The site navigation has been categorized in Heritage, Nature, wildlife beaches and adventures. Site also provides cruises and accomodation information. It has seperate download section where one can get high resolution wallpapers of famouse palces of Karnataka.
One thing I would like to comment on is "Maps" section. The site gives map of karnataka with icons displaying point of interest but it is not properly visible. Another thing is, its static. They could have done better with maps as now one can get Google Map APIs to plot all sorts of things on the map.
But overall the site looks pretty descent and attractive. It sure does what it supposed to do -- attract people to visit Karnataka.
Oh and by the way while searching for karnataka tourism in google or other search engines, make sure you get the right website. The website is www.karnatakatourism.org. There are few other websites as well in the list such as www.karnatakatourism.com which are not the official website of Karnataka Tourism.
