TripMela.com, the site that provides online travel specials in India announced a new "SO Called" website SearchMela.com. According to the release, its a megasearch engine that allows cosumers (they think of cosumers as morons..I will tell you why I said that later) to compare hotel rates from multiple websites from one page.
So big deal.. the website SearchMela.com is not that big of a deal anyways. At first I thought the website might have some sort of algorithm which can compare the hotel, flight ticket prices and can give you nice visual interface. But guess what? Its nothing like that. SearchMela is just a front end with affiliate search forms from Yatra, ClearTrip and other travel portals. Check out the image below..
So basically once you enter your search criterias for Flight of Hotel, it will take you (the consumer) to the travel portal site for more details. So what's the point? Why can't I go directly to the site where I want to go? Why should I use SearchMela.com for that? Is SearchMela.com a desperation of earning commission?
If you want to create a website like SearchMela.com, its very easy. Check out {ln:nw:http://www.yatra.com/YT/YT_common/affiliateprograms.html 'different} {ln:nw:http://www.travelguru.com/affiliate/index.shtml 'travel} portal's affiliate sections and you will get affiliate code that you can put on your own website (domain name + hosting now a days are so cheap). After doing some coding work, you can then distribute free press releases to different sites and bingo.. you have your own SearchMela.com.
So you decide, whether you would like to use SearchMela.com or go directly to the travel portal to find out your prices. Meanwhile, check out how to {ln:Find Cheapest Airline Tickets in India}
