Yahoo India has followed the Google Path and has launched local search for India. Yahoo India local is currently launched for Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai (I wonder why not Kolkata!!) where users can find business information listings on a range of categories such as restaurants, pubs, shopping malls, hospitals, schools, banks, health and fitness centres and 24-hour pharmacies.

Yahoo India Local is pulling business listings from Indiacom Yellow pages, events information from its site Upcoming and weather information from weather.com. Yahoo is been doing some trial and error with its different mashups in India. First they launched Yahoo OurCity which lists city specific events, questions and answers, news, forums etc. 

Yahoo India also launched Yahoo Glue pages for India which again is some sort of mashup which combines data from yahoo's other services and shows up on the Glue Pages.

Yahoo India Local also shows business on the map and gives you an option to find driving directions to the business address. Though the driving direction feature is not working 100%. Yahoo India Maps doesn't give you pin point based on the landmarks. Users also can read reviews, write reviews about restaurants, pubs or the business services that they have used. You can also leave footprints if you have been to the restaurant or have used the services offered by a business.

This just makes me ask "What is the difference between Yahoo Our City and Yahoo Local?" Why can't Yahoo India combine ourcity and local at one place??
