So finally YouTube has launched its operations in India. The site Youtube.in has been launched officially. I don't see any added value except that you have a dedicated domain which only lists videos from India or videos related to India. Google bought the domains YouTube.in and YouTube.co.in last year for about Rs. 2.44 lakhs.

YouTube India has partnered with Zoom TV, NDTV, Rajshri, UTV etc to have their own channels. YouTube India has channels like Comedians, Directors, Gurus, Musicians, Non-Profit, Partners and Sponsors. 

I think this can be a good opportunity for talented people like comedians or musicians to upload their videos and get recognized by millions of people. You never know, you might get a call from Bollywood.
