I am an amazon associate and every now and then, amazon put "new" items onto your associates homepage. So back in April, Amazon mentioned about "UnSpun" onto the front page of my associates account. That time I ignored it, but today when I visited the site, I saw some real good stuff there.
So here is what UnSpun all about.
UnSpun is a nice collaborative way of giving the rankings. For example, Top Mobile Phones, Best IT Companies in India and so on. Its like a wiki mechanism for rankings. But Imagine a large group of people editing and re-editing a wiki page that purported to have a ranked list of "Top Bollywood Actresses" It wouldn't work -- they'd step on each other. The solution is UnSpun. UnSpun is to rank the list in Wiki way.
So how to use UnSpun?
You can create a new login or use your existing Amazon login to vote or create your own list. You can search and find ranked lists on UnSpun without logging in. However, if you log in you can then cast your own votes, make your own personal rankings, or create a new list and have the community add items to it.
Another good thing about UnSpun is, they let you put your lists on your website or blog as a widget. Thats a nice way to share your list or get community voting for your list
I have created one list for "Top Mobile Phones in India" and found "The Best India Books" which already exist. Check it out below.
