Back in March, Jagaran group announced their tieup with Yahoo India. The tieup was to integrate Hindi portal Jagaran.com to Yahoo India. Looks like the Beta phase is live and can be found at in.jagran.yahoo.com.
What I don't understand is, what is the reason behind having a different domain/url for providing hindi content on yahoo? Yahoo India already has a hindi portal and few other indian language portals. So why not feed the yahoo Hindi portal with Jagran data?
Anyways, the new jagran-yahoo portal doesn't have much to offer yet as it is still in its Beta phase. Currently the portal offers समाचार, सखी, क्रिकेट, गुदगुदी, जोश, सिने मजा, खाना खजाना, धर्म मार्ग, पंचांग, साहित्य, जूनियर which is provided by Jagran.com.
ContentSutra has written about this tieup in more details. Jagran and Yahoo India will share the revenues generated by the portal. Yahoo is expecting Rs. 8 crore in revenue generated by this portal. Is it too optimistic? Well the time will tell about this.
