The first quad core processor phone of Micromax, A116 Canvas HD, will go on sale tomorrow. The phone is going to be priced at Rs.13, 990 and will be made available through the website of Micromax at www.micromaxinfo.com.
This phone has a five-inch touch screen like the HTC Butterfly and it is powered by MediaTek’s MT 6589 1.2 GHz quad core processor. It is run on the Android Jellybean operating system 4.1. The high definition screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with a color depth of 16.7 million which will give the user a super graphic viewing experience. The phone has the support of a 2000 mAh battery.
For capturing images, it has an eight mega pixel rear camera with a Light Emitting Diode flash. The phone has auto focus, 4X zoom and multiple camera settings. The memory is 4GB that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD slot. The phone is 3G enabled. The phone has 1GB RAM.
Micromax is giving good competition to Samsung, Nokia and RIM in India as a result of its highly aggressive marketing strategy of rolling out 30 smart phones this year. It has expanded its portfolio of handsets as well as tablet personal computers.
The A116 Canvas HD smart phone is being marketed in India as a ‘Phablet’ which denotes a cross between a smart phone and a tablet. The Valentine Day release tomorrow for this phone is likely to give its sales figures an early kick start. Many people are of an opinion that the phone is going to be worth it for its price tag.
