I don’t know where to start, the 8330 has everything! Email, phone, organizer, camera, video recorder, Internet access, supported mobile streaming and GPS capabilities are just the start. The 8330 is slim, blackberry claims that it will be the smallest and lightest smart phone in the entire blackberry line up.
Apart from its eye-catching looks the 8330 is powered with a 2-mega pixels camera with flash and 5x zoom, trackball navigation system, advanced media player, and enhanced desktop media manager software for managing music, pictures, and videos between your PC and the handset.
The 8330 gives you exclusive access to the BlackBerry Internet Service and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Allowing you to access 10 supported email accounts from one device, and integrates IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Excahnge, and Novell groupwise, and work with existing enterprise systems to enable push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data together with advanced security and IT administration.
Although the 8330 is powered with Ev-Do technology, it lacks Wi-Fi, and noise and echo cancellation technology the call quality was not what is expected from a smartphone priced at Rs. 25,990.
The 8330 has the Handheld BlackBerry Operating System; it supports IMAP4 and POP3 email protocols. You get Microsoft Office (mobile), and Microsoft Windows Media Player pre-installed. Its battery lasts 264 hours standby time or 260 minutes talk time.
The 8330 has a 64 MB internal memory and has a Mcro-Sd expansion slot. The Curve 8330 offers communication features such as instant messaging with BlackBerry Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and Google Talk; voice-activated dialing; speakerphone, etc.
From my point of view the curve 8330 is a great smart phone especially for the business user. The curve 8330 has been in the market for some time in other countries like the US, UK and Canada. Now it is in India, it success in the Indian market has yet to be seen.
The BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone offers a unique blend of functionality, design and usability that hits a real sweet spot for both personal and professional use, Mark Guibert, Vice President, Corporate Marketing at Research In Motion
The bottom line is:
Despite some spotty call quality, the BlackBerry Curve 8330 is a great messaging device with the bonus of EV-DO and integrated GPS, Bluetooth, great Email services and Instant Messaging services. Personally if were to buy a smart phone I would consider the 8330 as an option.
