Today morning I got an email from Sally who is working as an intern in Cooliris, a company who has developed a software called PicLens. She thought it would be interesting to share the information about PicLens to all my readers. Until I received her email, I wasn't aware of PicLens either but after looking at their website and installing PicLens(FireFox addon for Windows) I am really amazed with the experience.
PicLens lets you effortlessly search and zoom your way around thousands of images from Flickr, DevianArt, PhotoBucket, Google, Yahoo and YouTube videos faster and more immersively. You can download the firefox addon for PicLens here. If you are using Internet Explorer, you can download PicLens PicLens.com.

Imagine the YouTube video search right from your borwser with a 3D feel. Check out the above screenshot for Yahoo Image Search. I was not able to search YouTube videos as I am at work but sure looks amazing.
You can check out the PicLens Demo to find out more about PicLens. This reminded me of a browser that I tried last year. SpaceTime, a 3D browser which allows for viewing the pages in a 3D environment as a stack. I tried the browser after its beta launch. SpaceTime has now come up with the official version 1.0 early this year. You can download SpaceTime browser from their download page
Do you think 3D is the future?
