First it was big desktops with less hard drives & less memory, after that now we have small computers with high memory and huge hard drives and now the new trend is web desktops. Who knew that one day you can access your desktop from anywhere in the world with just browser and internet connection.

Just recently Microsoft launched its Microsoft Launches Live Mesh. There are plenty of sites such as DeskTopTwo.com, widgetop.com, YouOS.com etc.

Now there is a new entrant in the list, Bloxtr.com. Bloxtr is a web based desktop powered by eyeOS. If you don't know what is eyeOS, its an open source web based operating system. With eyeOS everything resides on a web browser.  

You will have your desktop, applications and files always with you, from your home, your college, your office or your neightboor's house. Just open a web browser, connect to your eyeOS System and access your personal desktop and all your stuff just like you left it last time.

So Bloxtr.com provides you an account where you can have a web based desktop. Bloxtr is a project developed by Ansar and Ismail, computer science students at an engineering college in Vatakara.

So what's new about Bloxtr.com? Nothing new, there are plenty of such web based desktop available for free. It would be different if they allow users to install software of one's choice on bloxtr.com.
