A mixtape is a compilation of songs recorded in a specific order, traditionally onto a compact audio cassette. We can call this a "remix" of current time. Mixtapes are gone long back when they introduced audio CDs and later MP3s. No body now plays audio cassettes anymore.

But as it says, history repeats itself, mixtapes concept is back but now with new avatar and web 2.0 features. I came across this pretty decent website which lets you upload your songs, mix it with other songs and create your own mixtapes. 

The site is called MixWit.com. It allows you to create a playlist of your favorite music and display it like an old days mixtape. You can do a music search right from the site and then fully customize the way your tape looks.

There is another such site called MuxTape.com. It also works on the same concept. Users can create their own playlists(mixtapes) and can play it, share it with others etc.

One basic feature was still missing in both of these website, Search Feature. I was not able to search for songs or tapes based on tags. It would be awesome if they can add the search functionality to it. Users should be able to search the mixtapes based on the tags. Other than that, these are pretty neat services.
