Mobile industry has been continously exploring new ways to generate revenue beyond its telephony business. In the coming years, one could watch breaking news over their mobile handsets. It doesn't seem far from reality. Five of the world's largest mobile phone makers are already collaborating on specifications to deliver broadcast services to wireless handsets.
BSNL has started a new trend in India. BSNL along with Apalya Technologies Pvt. launched an end to end mobile video solution for providing world class TV through GSM mobile handsets called MiMobi.tv for BSNL EDGE/GPRS customers. The service is launched in Andhra Pradesh and looks like it would roll out to other states soon.
Apalya Technologies has tied up with leading media companies like NDTV, AAJTAK, CARTOON NETWORK, TIMES NOW, ZOOM, BINDASS, ETV, TV9, MAATV, INDIA TV, CNN-Mobile (More TV channels will be introduced in phases) to deliver wide varieties of contents for the end to end mobile TV & video solution to BSNL's EDGE/GPRS Customers. The subscribers will be able to watch both Live TV and On Demand Video.

What are the charges?
The service is FREE till 30th November. After that they have different plans that you can subscribe to.
- Rs. 10/day - only for 24 hours
- Rs. 50/month/channel - One channel for 30 days
- Rs. 150/month - All channels for 30 days.
