Research in motion is looking to stay alive with a budget smartphone that is aimed at social networkers. It announced a new stylish smartphone this week for buyers who like to be socially connected. The Blackberry Curve 9320 smartphone will feature messaging and social facilities to make it easier to share with all groups of people. The Curve 9320 also provides 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity with long battery life.
A dedicated BlackBerry Messenger button will give access instantly to chit chat with friends. Despite the Curve 9320, the prospects of Research in Motion at the high end of the smartphone market are on the edge of a knife. This phone, however, may come strong when it comes to budget handsets. The phone retains its classic look in styling terms with its black silver trim. The front is split between the keyboard and screen. The Curve 9320 weighs 103 grams.
In the recent Sunday Times Generation Next Brand Survey Awards held in South Africa, Blackberry was voted the `Coolest Brand Overall’ by a predominantly younger generation.
As a result of the handset being a budget one, the plastic and the glossy back as well as the screen may scratch quite easily. The headphone socket is moved from the left side to the top and now it will become easy to put the phone in your pocket when the headphones are attached. Another additional feature is the LED accompaniment of the camera. The volume and camera buttons are on the right edge.
Users can post updates to multiple social networks at the same time and capture updates from RSS, social apps and instant messaging apps all in one consolidated view by means of the new Social Feeds 2.0 App which is pre-loaded.
