1.It is the Apps that make your phone `Smart’ – Apps put the smart in the smartphone. You can use the right Apps and stock up. You will find plenty of     brownies and other Apps that may be costing the equivalent of a dollar or two. For example, Android phones come with Google’s Android Market which is an App by itself. You can install even Amazon’s Appstore as well. If you have an iPhone, your source will be Apple’s Appstore.

2.You can avoid overpriced cases – A bare phone is susceptible to scuffs and scratches. It is wise to wrap your phone in some kind of a case. The cases that you will find in most stores will be quite costly. If you are looking for simple protection for your phone body, look online. A quick search on eBay will tell you that most of the cases will be available for ten dollars or less.

3.Know the difference between off and standby – When you are not using your phone, don’t switch it off. When the phone is actually powered down, it is off. It is best to make the phone be on standby mode where only the screen shuts off.

4.Tap the screen lightly and don’t stab it – Some people like to stab at the phone screens. Don’t hold your finger down much longer than necessary. Just tap the icon lightly with your finger.

5.Battery Life – You will be lucky if you get a day or two of smartphone runtime before recharging. You can stretch your battery life by running down the brightness on the screen by about fifty per cent. Disable the Bluetooth if you are not using it. Get rid of battery draining animated wallpapers.
