Search Google Now in Hindi with Hindi Suggestions

Google finally has now combined Google Suggest with Indic Transliteration technology so that users now can search the web in Hindi. You can type your queries using a regular english keyboard and Google will show you suggestions and completions of your query in Phonetically equivalent Hindi.
 
So that means now you can type Aishwarya and see Hindi suggestions like 'ऐश्वर्या राय' or 'ऐश्वर्या ऋतिक'. Once you select the particular suggestion, google will execute the search and will give you the search results in Hindi. 
 
People used to do this before but to do that, they had to use the Google Indic on-screen Keyboard gadget. But now no more on screen keyboards. Just simply type your english and get the suggestions in Phonetically equivalent Hindi.
 

The same thing goes for Orkut Scraps. Now you can scrap in Orkut in Hindi in a similar fashion. You will find "Type in Hindi" checkbox on the scrap pages. Just check the box to start scrapping in your favorite tongue.

 

Great going from Google. I am sure this will help a lot for those no-english speaking internet users. Now the question here is, what will Guruji and other Indian search engines will do? Guruji does have onscreen hindi or any other language keyboard but when I checked it in Firefox, its not available. So basically those keyboards are supported only in IE. Guruji still is ahead as it has four language on screen keyboards while Google has just incorporated only Hindi transliteration so far.

    Google has been providing a lot of tools for HIndi, Search and Suggest you can see above, also Indic has facilitated Hindi writing completely. Even new users and non-technical users can easily write Hindi now.
    Thanks to Indic that I have started my own Hindi blog now. It was amazing and feel proud to have a blog in my mother tongue.
    I also came across this free hindi web counter from http://gostats.in
    It is amazing tool in Hindi and was really surprised to see companies considering Hindi and India as their market.
