Nokia N9 hit the shelves almost a month back and has garnered a lot of excitement around it, bringing a lot of fans to the Finnish company and its MeeGo device. Nokia has hit the right blend between a mobile operating system and a smartphone. The user interaction with this phone is different from anything that has come out in the last couple of years.

The way technologies have been assimilated in this phone are simply innovative. N9 features three external buttons which are two volume keys and one lock/unlock key. This key is to unlock the phone’s display each time you want to use it. To skip the use of this key, you can simply tap the screen twice and the screen will be unlocked. If this does not happen, you can enable this option by going to the Settings/Device/Display and then use the toggle for this specific feature.

Another interesting area is the quick Menu which allows the users an option to quickly access the messages, browser and the camera. For bringing up the Quick Menu, you have to swipe about one thirds from the bottom upwards right from the edge of the screen and then slowly swipe down until the shortcuts appear at the base of the screen.

Nokia N9 also notifies by displaying on the screen all the events missed by the owners like missed calls, eMails, Facebook or Twitter mentions. The one small handicap is the battery removal. You simply cannot remove the battery yourself. You have to get this done at your nearest authorized service dealer.
