Wow, this is the second SMS service launch announcement in one day. First it was Google 5GOOG service and now its KingFisher Airlines FLYBUYSMST service. Kingfisher airlines today announced the launch of SMS based ticketing service which will work on all mobile networks in India.

KingFisher airlines recently partnered with PayMate (wireless transactions company) and this SMS service is basically an outcome of that partnership. This SMS service is called FLYBUYSMST and works in three stpes. You first search then you book the ticket and then pay it.

To search - You need to send an SMS to 5667711 with your starting and destination city with your travelling dates. e.g. FLY Ahmedabad Mumbai 10nov. You will then receive an sms with the details of kingfisher airlines flights for that dates with departure time and best fares. To book your ticket, you will need to reply to that SMS with your selected option and name of the person who is travelling.

To make a payment, if you are a PayMate user, you can authorise the payment through SMS with your PayMate pin and if you are not a PayMate user, you can pay with your credit card over an automatic IVR callback. Once its done, you will receive confirmation message via SMS.

I haven't tried the service yet as I don't have any plans to fly in near futre. But if anyone of you would like to try it, I would be happy to receive your comment with your experience. (via:WebIndia123)
