The Optimus LTE is going to be the rival for Samsung’s 4G version of its Galaxy S model and Apple’s new iPhone which of course runs on standard 3G network. This phone comes after LG has suffered with five consecutive quarter losses from handset sales. It is also set to come out with a greater loss for this running quarter.
LG has been slower than its competitor companies to concentrate on smartphones. Its scale which is on the smaller side has held it back from making good money from the rising demand for cheaper phones.
Optimus LTE may mobilize their LTE (Long Term Evolution) and display technologies. This model has a 4.5 inches high definition screen with an eight mega-pixel rear camera and a 1.3 mega-pixel front-facing camera. The phone is going to be powered by Qualcomm Inc’s 1.5 GHz dual core processing chip and Google’s Gingerbread version of the Android operating system. Its hardware resembles Samsung’s Galaxy S II LTE. This phone offers much faster data transmission than many of its earlier predecessors.
The date has not been decided yet as to when this phone will go on sale in the world markets. However, the announcement has done some good to its share index that has risen by about three per cent yesterday.
