According to latest reports in media, Google's Android platform has taken almost 50 per cent of the global Smartphone market with dominating presence in the Asia-Pacific market as per as research firm named Canalys. Android’s concurrent launches & efforts to create more flexibility in the market made it today world’s No. 1 OS maker. Presently, major players like HTC, LG, Motorola & Samsung are using Android as OS in their Smartphones.
Android came in the picture after its acquisition by Google, now its number one platform in 35 out of 56 countries Canalys sources, resulting into market share of about 48 per cent, the research firm claimed. Now Apple comes next to Android in total market share which is about 19 percent & giving strong competitions to Nokia world’s first Smartphone vendor.
Surprisingly Samsung has also overtaken Nokia’s in the numbers, "Samsung has failed to fully capitalize on Nokia's weakened state around the world, as the Finnish company rides out a challenging transitional period," Canalys analyst Chris Jones said. "It's the best placed vendor to grow at Nokia's expense, taking advantage of its global scale and channel reach, but it hasn't yet done enough to capitalise on this, particularly in emerging markets." Experts say Android is also one of the key reasons behind the Samsung’s reach to global market in such pace. Android’s success came out with many leaches & all and finally Google became the most leading player. Google was earlier also in the claims of huge legal patent fits. It’s hard to believe as even Symbian’s ventured with Microsoft, didn’t help Windows Mobile to grow its market.
Android’s fastest growth in the Smartphone industry may bring another revolution soon.
