Over long run speculations on fate Google Street View in India comes to end yesterday. Google India has launched Street View application program last month only. Now it’s under the scanner of Bangalore police, according to reports in media Police has directed search engine giant to get permission from Centre govt first to start this application in tech capital of India.

Taking note from the Govt, Google has stopped collecting images for its street view service in the Bangalore city. Bangalore police in statement mentioned city as highly sensitive zone in the country. Bangalore is the city situated in southern region of India, known for its growth in the technological segment. Bangalore is also known as IT Hub of India, since most of them companies have settled their bases in Bangalore only. Due to sudden growth in population & biz expansion, Bangalore is considered as one of the most high profile & sensitive zones in the country.

Global Search Engine Major Google launched its project to collect HD images to give Google users 360 degree views of streets only last month in Bangalore. Google Street View Service is currently operated in many countries across the globe. Google has been prosecuted also for privacy breaches & illegal imaging because of its Street view services. It’s still a concerned question in numerous countries over regular data collection. High definition Cameras mounted on cars and tricycles had been taking pictures in the streets of Bangalore.

Google’s Reply to AFP

"We received a letter from Bangalore's commissioner of police and are reviewing it. We will not be collecting any more images for Street View until we speak to the police," a Google spokeswoman told AFP.

As per as sources, Police has expressed deep concerns over Google’s this particular service. Police wanted Google to get node from Central govt first prior taking images of entire city.

Google India's Product Head Vinay Goel told India's CNN-IBN news channel that they were "only driving on public roads and taking publicly available imagery."

Google may rethink about its policies before re-launching again. Since in Country like India where Internal security is being key issue among centre as well as state government. It’s good to see Centre Govt reply over Google’s street view service. So till that no more sneaking in the city…….
