Citrix Systems today declared a venture in Core Mobile Networks, Inc., marking the third funding assurance for the Citrix Startup Accelerator, its Silicon Valley-based seed investment initiative which launched in December 2010. Core Mobile Networks, Inc., based in Santa Clara, Calif., "mobilizes the cloud" by connecting information from enterprise IT systems with content in the cloud, and transporting it to mobile devices in real time with far more contextual significance. Core Mobile will at first aim mobile business professionals using the Apple iPhone and Android-based smartphone platforms.
Determined on entrepreneur-led innovation, the Citrix Startup Accelerator searches for new technologies and business models that have the capability to facilitate new ability in areas such as cloud, mobility, virtualization, networking, security, collaboration, storage and SaaS. The scheme not only offers initial investments to select start-ups, but facilitate them to promote from the global Citrix presence, its entrepreneur-friendly surroundings, large customer base and tested go-to-market strategies. The venture in Core Mobile follows financial support commitments made to Primadesk and in a furtiveness mode company, further increasing the Citrix Startup Accelerator portfolio. The program anticipates publicizing more new investments in July as a result of the recent Citrix Startup Accelerator Global Challenge.
