Facebook Drives Traffics Towards Other Websites: Study

Facebook, the world’s No. 1 Social networking is not only drawing traffics & business to Facebook.com but also to new sites. According to new study, Facebook becomes the source to divert traffic towards new websites. Facebook who recently got praise because of EarthQuake news & information source, even thou too received critics due to Middle East insurgency. Pew recent study reports, Facebook too drives traffics towards other websites.

Earlier different studies have reported how Facebook creates traffic & influence web circle to get more & more clicks & visitors. People use Facebook as new Internet's popular hangout spot to share and recommend content.

As per as new findings from a study on the flow of traffic to the Web's 25 largest news destinations, the  study was officially released on Monday by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism. Facebook was solely responsible for 3 per cent of traffic to the 21 news sites that allowed data to be tracked, Research Author Amy Mitchell says. Other sites got 6 per cent to 8 per cent of their readers from Facebook, study reveals. Entire referral technical gets popularity since Facebook introduced omnipresent LIKE buttons, which usually encourages other websites to place their contents too.

Google Inc's is the most dominant search engine which actually supplies about 30 per cent of traffic to the top news sites, as per as Pew Research. Along with this, other sharing tools are playing key role in shifting traffics such as Addthis.com. They are basically empowering people to rely on their online social circles to get some interesting contents.  It seems that Facebook has also adopted Google’s Formula. Hard to comment, but Facebook is at the vanguard state because it has more than 500 million worldwide users.

Twitter is another site where other sites are getting one percent or less traffic. Twitter accounted total 3.5 percent of the online traffic to the Los Angeles Times, comparatively more than from Facebook
