Dell has announced in a press conference held in February 8, 2011 about the release of a tablet powered by window 7 operating system. According to the report by CNET the size of this new tablet would be 10-inches as opposed to the 5 inches as it was previously stated by Dell. It is almost twice in size then the previous rumoured version.

This tablet is designed mainly to suit the need of the business and corporate users. It is not made for entertainment purpose like the Apple iPad.The main features of this Business Tablet are that it works on Windows 7 operating system and is powered by a undisclosed Intel processor. It is probable that the processor would either be Intel Atom or Core i3/i5 ULV. The Intel Atom processor is used in the Hp slate 500 and the much faster Core i3/i5 ULV is used in the Eee Slate EP121.

 

This Tablet is expected to be released during june-july 2011. The exact date of the release is not yet been announced by dell. It would be the second tablet operating on Windows 7 in India after the MSI Windpad 100W. MSI’s Windpad 100w is already available in retail shops throughout India.

 

Also HP is expected to release a Tablet as Hp has announced the release of a WebOS based Tablet recently. The price of the Dell Tablet has not yet been disclosed.
