The only reason that torrents have not yet been released for mobile phones is the caps on the bandwidth of your mobile internet connection. But it will soon be changed with BitTorrent, Inc announcing its uTorrent Remote for Android based Smartphone.

 

This version of utorrent works by letting the user manage the downloading of torrents file on your desktop by your Android based phone and later stream completed torrents back to your phone. The uTorrent Remote was first announced at CES 2011 held in January and it only works on the latest version of uTorrent which is still in its alpha stage.

 

This app basically let you control the torrents in your desktop. It allows you to see the status of your uploads or downloads and also give you power to start, pause, add or remove torrents file. Also you have the facility to transfer a completed file from your desktop to your android device. But this app doesn’t come with file conversion software. So it will not be possible to play all files transferred from your desktop.

 

If you want to make use of this uTorrent remote app, at first you have to download and install the uTorrent 3.0 alpha from web category of uTorrent preferences. Also you need to choose username and password and later feed those to this app which present in your mobile. The app contains buttons through which you can view all or active or seeding or completed torrents.

It also allows you to customize labels and adding RSS feeds for your Torrents. By tapping on the torrent you can get all its information including speed, size, time remaining etc.
