Only about a fortnight ago the MNP or Mobile Number Portability was introduced in India. Currently Vodafone is leading the MNC space which is spread over many circles including Haryana.The other Indian service provider like Airtel, Aircel, Tata GSM and Idea Cellular are also doing relative well.

The maximum numbers of port in users are currently held by Idea Cellular, Airtel and Vodafone. But the number of port out users of Airtel is also quite high and is almost equal to the BSNL which is the biggest loser in the MNP wars. This is not a good sign for the leading Service provider in India. Besides BSNL, Reliance GSM is also witnessing a large number of port-out users.

 

Also from the data it is evident that the CDMA category is now not attractive for the user and it is becoming more and more outdated. Also the CDMA customers are beginning to switch to GSM operators.

 

Now as The Telecom authority of India or TRAI is currently prohibiting all MNP offers which were made solely to steal customers from other service provider, it is yet to be seen who would ultimately win the war.
