Google made the Google Places with Hotspot available on iphone with some tweaks for Apple iOS platform devices. Apple iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices which are running iOS 3.0 or higher will support the new Google Places App.
Earlier,Google had released Google places with Hotpot feature in form of an Android platform App in mid-November 2010. Places with hotpot allow user to made ratings for a particular place which they like and also get personalized the results based on their ratings.
Google Places assist user to search and discover the places around them. Places with hotpot let users to rate these discovered 'hotspots' which are then mapped and used to personalize your places search results
For the iPhone platform, Google Places with Hotpot app offers few popular search categories like Pizza ,ATMs, Restaurants, , Bars, Hotels, Post Office, Coffee. The stars and smiley icons are placed to rate the hotspot. Once the user rate place then Google's personalized recommendations engine will add it and then give you place that they've marked as likes and have been recommended by their friends.
