The LG LW6500 is a 65-inch 3D TV which uses TruMotion and gives 1080p crystal clear images operating at 200MHz. This TV can be viewed through passive glasses which have less weight and no batteries.
There is no need for the commonly used large and heavy shutter glasses which need batteries. These passive glasses are similar to the one used in the 3D cinema theatres and works because of the opposite polarized glasses for both eyes. The TV display has two layers. Each layer is specially made for a single eye piece. the viewer is able to see two distinct picture on either of his eyes which is a necessary condition for a stereoscopic view of 3D videos. There is also no flicker as the glass does not need to be opened or closed to work. The refresh rate is also quite high and thus prevents fatigue of eye. Therefore it is preferred to other 3D glasses.
Heavy active shutter glasses are synchronized with the TV’s IR transmitter and causes eye fatigue and headache to the viewer. This results in the unpopularity of the 3D TV technology. Let us hope that the passive shutter glasses cause no such problem and be widely accepted
