The app supports only iOS 4.0 and higher versions and works on iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch. The app uses GPS hardware on your smartphone to track the location of your friends and displays it on a map. You can know the exact location of your friends and share your location with them.
The geo location app runs in the background even when the phone is locked. Google Latitude was first launched in early 2009 but it never made to the App Store. Apple had earlier rejected Google Latitude on grounds that users might confuse it with Apple’s in-built Maps app. A web app version for iPhone was then released by Google in July, 2009.
A 1.0 version of the app appeared on App Store briefly last week and was quickly removed. The one available for download on App Store now is a 2.0 version of the app.
