Did you ever want to write a blog or send an email to your folks in the language you normally use? Now a days, you can do this as so many Indian email services provides you to write an email in Indian local languages. But its not available in major email services like google, yahoo, hotmail. So you end up writing an email in english. I would not go to rediff mail or indiatimes mail just because they have indian language pack.
So what you do to solve this ? You want to use Gmail, Yahoo and want to send an email in your language. Here is the solution for you.
There is a new website in its "Alpha" phase, PaahiJen an online notepad for local language text. It lets you generate text in Indian languages using a regular English language keyboard.
The language text can then be copy-pasted anywhere you want – emails, scrap, blogs. Paahijen, which means “I want it” in Marathi, is available in 11 Indian languages. The Pune-based company was started in February 2007 by Abhijit Gadgil and Siddharth Karandikar. (LiveMint)
They also have recently introduced a ScratchWall where you can share your thoughts/comments in your own language. It supports Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Tamil, Punjabi and Oriya so far.
I find it pretty interesting as you can just login to this website, type in your text and get your converted local language text and use it anywhere you want.
Isn't that amazing ?
