Sify has already launched MumbaiLive, BangaloreLive, HyderabadLive and according to the press release, Chennai Live is the fourth city portal but when you go to ChennaiLive.in, you can see DelhiLive as well. I am not sure if that is officially launched or not but it does exist.
Chennialive.in offers live video feeds from traffic web-cams stationed at Kathipara, Thiruvanmiyur, Kilpauk and Kodambakkam. This will allow visitors/chennaikers to plan their routes by checking the site for the prevailing traffic conditions.
The site includes video sections for different categories like information on the latest happenings in the city, gossip & updates on Kollywood (Tamily movies), revies of the hot spots in Chennai, deals from Chennai Bazaar and reviews of restaurants etc on top of the regular city news, classifieds, directory listings, city maps etc.
I should have spent more time comparing ChennaiLive and Yahoo OurCity Chennai portal. I wonder which site would attract more users.
