Play Station 3 is one of the most powerful gaming console out there. I am not saying this because I own one, but I am saying this because of the features that are packed in this amazing thing.

I looked at XBox 360, Wii and PS3 and out of those three, PS3 was the clear winner because of its ability to support 3D (with software update), DLNA compliant, Blueray Player, Hard Disk, Media Storage and what not. Now that I have PS3 for quite some time, I keep finding some amazing features that I would like to share.

Here is a tip on how you can convert your TV remote into PS3 remote control.

PS3 slim comes with Sony's Bravia Sync feature. That means, Sony Bravia devices can operate each other. Sony Bravia under-the-hood implements HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) which promises to control components that are connected via HDMI cables with just one remote.

HDMI CEC features are convenient It’s easier to grab one remote and press one button to turn everything off as you run out the door. The system also automatically configures itself—to play a movie, for instance.

Newer televisions like Samsung, Toshiba, Panasonic, LG and Sony also comes with the HDMI-CEC functionality. So basically, if you have a TV that supports HDMI-CEC, you can control your PS3 with your TV Remote. Below are the TV Remote's that can be used for PS3.

So go to PS3-->System Settings-->HDMI Control --> Turn it to ON. Now go to your Television sets and look for the HDMI-CEC setup and search for the PS3. Once listed, you can connect PS3 to your TV Remote.
