After the successful launch of Samsung Wave and Galaxy S, Samsung introduced 2 new phones in the Galaxy range - Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5.
The move would enable the South Korean handset manufacturer to tap the growing Android market in India.
Samsung Galaxy 3 ( I5801)
Samsung Galaxy 3 i5801 is a multimedia oriented Android smartphone. It comes with DivX/Xvid playback support, music player, microSDHC card slot, Wi-Fi and A-GPS. Galaxy 3 is packed with a 1500mAh Li-Ion battery and supports memory of about 170MB with MicroSD up to 32GB. The new Galaxy phone is equipped with unique abilities such as Accelometer and Ambient Light Sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy 3 i5801 Android Smartphone, which is expected to replace Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 Android Smartphone, is now available in India for an unbelievable price of Rs. 12,500 from several online retailers.
Samsung Galaxy 5 ( I5503)
Samsung Galaxy 5 comes with a 2.8 inches QVGA LCD display and includes a 2 megapixel FF camera. The device supports the same audio formats as Galaxy 3, besides supporting various video formats such as MPEG and H.263/264. Galaxy 5 is powered with a 1200mAh L-Ion battery and offers 170MB memory as well as MicroSD up to 16GB.
It has all the bells and whistles of a typical smartphone from Samsung like Social Hub and access to Samsung Apps. There’s also your typical WiFi and 3G connection (HSDPA 7.2), 2 megapixel camera (w/o flash though) and my most favorite of all, Swype texting. Samsung Galaxy 5 will be available in the Indian market in the estimated price band of Rs.10, 200.
In addition, both the phones portray some common features such as Social Hub, Google Services, Android Market, AGPS, Touch Wiz 3.0 user interface, Augmented Reality with Layar Reality Browser.
