India’s first solar power driven mobile is the Guru 1107 from the Samsung. The VF 247 has come a year after the Guru 1107’s release. The VF 247 can be charged automatically by exposing it to Sunlight. The phone has got a unique software and hardware called as Sun Boost, that will charge your mobile even when staying inside a room during a normal weather conditions. So, your phone will be safe from the side effects of direct sunlight. Just a ordinary ambient light is enough to charge the mobile. It takes 8 hours to get charged from the sunlight. After your mobile is fully charged, you can have a talk time of 4 hours and standby time of 8 days.
The VF 247 is a colour mobile that features a torch light and a FM radio. Other specification details were not revealed by Vodafone.
The cost of VF 247 will be ranging around Rs. 1,500 and will be available from the month of August.
