Harit Nagpal, Director – Marketing and New Business Development, Hutch, said, “Britannica Concise Encyclopaedia on Hutch phones introduces the concept of ’knowledge on the go’ and will greatly benefit those who need constant access to information.”
According to TechTree, to access the service, subscribers need to log on to Planet Hutch at www.hutch.in; and click on Infoservices. The service costs around Rs 99 for 3 months, and Rs 30 per week.
The question here is, who would wanna pay money for the encyclopedia when you have access to Google and WikiPedia ? You might need GPRS/Data Service to access Google and WikiPedia but then it comes down to the price and value per price as to whether Rs 99/month for encyclopedia is cheaper or paying GPRS service fees/month is cheap.
