Sony has introduced 3 new cameras capable of digital point and shoot. The three cameras are named: WX5, TX9 AND T99 respectively. All three of them are capable of making HD video shooting. The Cyber shot WX5 and TX 9 are able to shoot 1080i HD movie. The digital camera of the T99 is capable of shooting 720p HD video.

The WX5 and TX9 feature Exmor R sensor that has a Super Auto Mode. The three new cameras are planned to be available by mid-September in the current year. All the new cameras have BIONZ processor. The DSC-WX5 and DSC- TX9 are equipped with 12.2 megapixel EXMOR CMOS sensor that enables super Auto mode capturing of up to 6 frames with the pressing of a shutter button. Optimization of the settings depends on the shooting conditions.

In these cameras, Sony for the first time introduces 3D image capturing capability. The 3D Sweet panorama allows the clicking of the images to happen in a press-and-sweep motion. The Sweet multi angle shoots fifteen frames per second, creating by this way 3D images of the object from different angles. The built-in sensors of the camera detect the side to side movements of the camera after the image is shot showing by this way the multi-angle views. The 3D images can be viewed on 3D television sets.

Although the Multi angle view allows also the pictures to be viewed in an ordinary 2d TV. The main difference between the WX5 and TX9 is that WX5 supports 5x optical zoom and the Sony G Lens, while the TX9 I equipped with 4x optical zoom and supports Carl Zeiss lens.

The TX9’Sweep panorama is will fit ideally to snorkeling enthusiasts for making great underwater photos. Both the WX5 and TX9 are able to shoot AVCHD 1920x1080(1080i) full HD video in MP4 format. The TX9 has background defocus which simulates the depth of a field. The new T99 is equipped with 14.1 megapixel image sensor with 4x optical zoom and Carl Zeiss lens. Other features include Underwater Sweep Panorama 720p HD video recording at 30 frames per second in MP4 format.

DSC-WX5: $300 (Rs. 14,100 approx.) - available in Black, Silver, Brown, Gold and Violet

DSC-TX9: $400 (Rs. 18,800 approx.) - available in Dark Grey, Gold and Red

DSC-T99: $250 (Rs. 11,700 approx.) - available in Black, Silver, Pink, Green and Gold
