The Android based mobile phones have been widespread from 1 year and a half. The majority of these phones were based on the so called CDMA platform. It was surprising that in India where the CDMA has a considerable share there was no one CDMA based Android device so far.

That is about to change because Samsung and reliance communications has introduced the first the first Android phone based on CDMA platform in India- the Galaxy i899.the phone is not brand new. It has been on sale in China since quite some time.

The i899 Galaxy boasts 3.2 inch resistant touch screen display which can provide 320x480 pixel resolution. At the rear the phone is equipped with 3.2 MP camera with LED flash. The 800 MHz processor of the phone does the number crunching. Other features of this phone are the support of GPS, Bluetooth and divX video formats. The internal memory is 230 MB but it can be expanded to up to 32 GB with the help of microSD cards.

The phone is about to be launched on the reliance networks. Its pricing and specifications are not yet known. That fact is indicative that CDMA consumers have more handsets to choose from as each day passes.
