Cell phone manufacturers are also making handsets with Google applications compatibility. Take iPhone for an example. iPhone has built in feature for Google Maps and YouTube. YouTube just released its mobile website http://m.youtube.com. The site transmits videos over RTSP protocol instead of transferring over HTTP (normal web) protocol. Lot of phones doesn’t support this feature. Even iPhone’s browser doesn’t support RTSP protocol. And that’s why iPhone has special application called “YouTube” which uses different way of displaying YouTube videos.
LG Electronics recently has signed an agreement with YouTube to develop mobile phone which can play youtube videos. This proposed phone will enable users to upload videos and watch videos directly from their mobile handset without going to the website.
LG recently launched its “Google Phone” (the image above) that has pre installed software for accessing Google application directly from the phone.
The phone offers one-click access to Google’s search engine as well as Google Maps and Gmail. Though there are few “third party” applications that let you do the same thing for your non-google compatible smart phones. Google also provides its mobile applications for smart phones.
The latest trend is to have pre-installed software which enables google applications accessible directly.
