Sony Ericsson announced the launch of its smallest Android handset- the Xperia X10 in India. The phone is the smallest Android phone available at the present moment is equipped with 2.6 inch QVGA touch screen, 600 MHz processor, 128 MB external memory, which can be expanded to 32 GB using microSD cards, Wi-Fi and GPS. The phone has also 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash in the rear and supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The main disadvantage of the phone is the non-removable battery which is due to the small size of the phone. The phone is pretty simple, but could prove to be head turner in public.

The phone is sold at the moment in India at a price of Rs 15000 which is acceptable price for a phone based on entry level Android OS. The price is almost the same as Samsung Spica. And HTC Tattoo which cost almost the same amount of money or less.

The phone is offered in various colors –black, pink, lime, red or silver. In the meantime the launch of QWERTY keyboard equipped X10 Mini Pro is expected in the near future.

I bought this phone and it has upto 4 hours talk time!!! which is almost nothing and mine dies with in 2 hrs of talking.. a couple of calls, a couple of smses and the battery is dead!!!! The 285 hrs standby claim is rubbish. besides if you have any applications open or are using the internet it dies faster. There is basically no point in buying a phone with tons of features if the battery cant support it.
