There is strong evidence that Sonny Ericson is working on the development of a new Android based smart phone that will be smaller than the X10 but bigger than the X10 mini series. By this way the void that the Android line-up has will be filled.

The word goes about the weird phone called Sonny Ericsson Shakira which is a little smaller than the Xperia X10. The introduction of that phone is days after the launch of 5-inch screen Sonny Ericsson smartphone.

At the present moment very little is known about this Shakira phone.The large screen will probably be HVGA type. Because it very much resembles Xperia some people consider that the name ‘Shakira’ means that it is a Walkman branded phone.The phone will be released most probably in autumn (September-November) and will feature Android 2.2 (Froyo).
