I remember till few months back, Google maps were not showing exit numbers on their maps for major highways. I think till that point, google maps had only couple of features that were missing. One was this exit numbers and the second one is showing Shortest/Fastest routes for the driving directions.
Yes, the reason why I mentioned "One was.." because now Google maps shows exit numbers for major highways. This exit numbers are shown as green circle with white color exit numbers.
Previously, Google maps users were frustrated by the fact that, when simply browsing maps rather than obtaining specific driving directions, freeway exit numbers were never displayed, as many other mapping applications like Yahoo Maps and Map Quest where showing these information.
So this is definitely a must have feature that google maps finally included after a long time. If you are living in USA, you might want to check out your city maps and see whether its showing up or not. I checked New York, Illinois, New Jersey, California, Texas. So it should be available for all over USA.
Exit numbers doesn't show up on Google Maps mobile version though. It would be wonderful to see exit numbers on Google Maps for Mobile too.
