Apple has nearly sold more than a million iPad's within the days of launch in US and its iPhone is set to overtake BlackBerry worldwide. With this growing sales of iPad the maker of BlackBery Research In Motion has plans to launch its own tablet later this tear.
It is been speculated that the tablet will be around 8.9 inches and likely to be launched in the month of December. Although, there is no report from RIM for the launch of their tablet.
The new tablet willl be the RIM's first non hand held device, which is facing a tough challenge in the smartphone market, with the devices using Google's Android and iPhone using Apple's own software fast making inroads into its monopoly even in the high-end corporate market.
RIM's tablet will not support mobile networking but can be connected to its smartphone through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. It is likely that harware will be provided by Taiwanese hardware manufaturer Quanta and California-based maker Marvell Technology Group silicon solutions for the BlackBerry tablet.
It is also rumoured that HP is getting ready to launch its own version of tablet HP Hurricane based on the Plam OS. Both RIM and HP are currently studying the iPad to consider what they can add to their product to make it an alternative to the Apple's iPad.
