Nokia and Skype has come hand in hand to launch the Skype application for Symbian. The Skype client for Nokia smartphones works on Symbian O.S. only.
Skype for Symbian will provide Nokia smartphone users worldwide to use Skype wherever and whenever they want, with a WiFi or mobile data connection (GPRS, EDGE, 3G) connectivity services. Skype has reached the OVI store and is downloadable for free.
Skype for Nokia smartphone for Symbian allows the user to make free between Skype users from anywhere in the world and thus can save money on calls and to send and receive SMS, instant messages to/from individuals/groups, share pictures, videos, music and other files, receive calls for their existing online number, can see Skype contacts that are online and be able to call or IM. It can easily import names and numbers from the phone’s address book.
Skype for Symbian can run only on Nokia smartphone using the latest platform version of the Symbian 1. Skype will soon implement this client to Symbian mobile devices from other manufacturers as well, including Sony Ericsson and many.
