In recent years, GSM has picked up pretty well in India. India has so many GSM networks like Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL, MTNL, Aircel. Good thing about Indian telecom sector is that you are not bound to one particular network. You can switch between one GSM network to another GSM networks by just changing a SIM card in your mobile phone. But now with DUAL GSM mobile phones, you don't even have to switch the SIM, just place two different SIM cards into one mobile phone and that allow calls to be received on either number at any given time. This was possible for only GSM networks though up until now.

The trend is changing and now you can have Triple SIM phones that will have DUAL SIM connection plus one CDMA connection. That will allow you to use one mobile device with multiple network operators. Gone are the days when you have to carry two or three mobile phones for your work, personal and business. Videocon VC1425 -- Videocon just released its latest handset army including the VC1425 triple SIM handset (GSM+GSM+CDMA). The phone has VGA camera with 3x digital zoom and .avi video recording, MP3 player, bluetooth, 2" TFT screen, Stereo FM recording and upto 2GB expandable memory. The phone is priced at Rs 5,795.
