Sony Ericsson, one of the leading mobile producers in India has launched many phones supporting entertainment activities like music, games, etc. Now has come up with 3 new handsets. Sony Ericsson’s ‘Human Curvature design’ Xperia X10 main, mini, mini pro is ready to give a great experience as the name suggests.
Xperia X10:
The unique feature is its UI. Two different yet similar interfaces have been developed to augment the handset’s multimedia and Social Networking capabilities. Timescape is a sophisticated interface combining facial recognition technology with plenty of social networking access directly from your contacts section. And, MediaScape takes care of all your online and on-board media and categorizes it well enough to make it easy. MTV is also one of the new brand partners with SE and intend to have their very own app loaded onto the handset with exclusive content. The 1GHz processor seemed speedy enough to handle all functions well enough.
Xperia X10 Mini and Mini Pro:
They are small and easily fit into the palm of your hand and support ‘Human Curvature Design’. Both run on Android platforms and come preloaded with the Timescape interface. But, Mediascape is not part of this deal. Both handsets offer plenty of connectivity. The Mini Pro’s slide out QWERTY is an added advantage for speedy texting, the keypad has individual keys that are spaced out evenly, like that of Nokia’s N97 and its Mini counterpart. Unfortunately, these Android handsets also come lacking sufficient video codec support.
Xperia X10 features 4-inch Scratch-resistant touch-screen with 480 x 854 pixels and 65k colours and 8MP camera (LED flash) featuring face & smile detection. Whereas, the X10 Mini’s are 2.5-inch Scratch-resistant touch-screen with 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colours and 5MP camera (LED flash). But, the common features of both Xperion major and mini’s are 3G (HSDPA, HSUPA), EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0 (micro), FM radio, 3.5mm hands-free port, micro SD card support, GeoTagging and a GPS support with A-GPS support for Google Maps (trial version of Way-Finder preloaded), All three of these Android devices feature Google Maps with the new Street View. But, in India we have only old Google Maps as its under progress. The prices are yet to be announced, but it must be something that is more than affordable when comparing it with the handset features.
