Instant Email Access Through Aircel PEEK

Now-a-days mobile phones that are being introduced by many mobile companies are of QWERTY model only and Aircel is one of the major mobile service providers in India has announced its own QWERTY mobiles dedicated mainly for providing Email services on the go, called Aircel PEEK.
The device can maintain maximum of 3 email accounts and supports Microsoft Exchange and the user upload and download attachments up to 10 MB based on email service provider and works with GPRS Connection. It can accommodate a maximum of 5000 emails and 1000 Contacts. Aircel Peek can support Microsoft Excel, Word and Adobe PDF and different image formats.
Aircel Peek has basic features a QVGA screen of 320 x 240 pixels, 65k colours and a full QWERTY keypad 2.5 inches with strong aluminium back cover and multifunctional clickable scroll wheel and a back button powered by battery that withstand for 2-3 days with a normal usage. Peek has a security lock feature that protects device from unauthorized access, when wrong password is entered 10 times, personal information is deleted instantly. Peek comes with powerful battery that lasts for 2-3 days under typical usage.
The Aircel Peek device having prepaid plans will get unlimited email service for Rs897/ 90 days and after the validity ends, the subscriber can recharge with Rs. 89/7 days or with Rs. 299/30 days validity. Then, for post-paid plans get unlimited email service for Rs897/ 90 days and after the validity ends, the rental of Rs. 299/ month will be charged. Aircel Peek device is just for Rs.2999 and is more than affordable mainly for the business users and it will be available in Aircel stores, Croma, E-Zone and Staples stores.
Wouldn't you buy GPRS package for your mobile device rather than buying Aircel PEEK device just for emails?

    This device is a total waste of money.Not able to open most of the attachments of PDF and Excel.

    Any low end mobile have the same feature for a price of 3999/- in addition with camera,web brousing, phone facility.

    I bought it yesterday,I have handed over the set to them today as the pdf files/excel files were not opening.The Aircel gallery did not have a thorough knowledge on the featues.

    I couldn't agree with you more. In the age of smart phones and high tech devices, buying a PEEK just for emails and pay monthly service charge is stupid.

    I don't think this device was successful in USA either. I guess that's why they thought it might fly in India. Too bad.
