Google maps has changed the way we look at our mother planet earth. Everyone is getting better with geography (At least I know the world because of Google maps). What can you not do with Google Maps? Find directions, Indian city bus routes, local businesses, restaurants etc etc. You can infact track your friends using google maps. You may know that you can track Indian trains on Google Maps but today I found something even better. Track Flights Live On Google Maps..

Now, the live movement of incoming and outgoing flights can be tracked in Google Map live using Casper mashup. Currently, the tracking is limited to flights flying in and out of Amsterdam Airport, but in the future the mashup will be configured for any airport.

Based on the name of the airlines the flights are coloured, but we can also change the colours depending upon the altitude of the current flight. The speed and altitude of the flight can be found by clicking the icon of the moving flight in real-time.

If you are checking this service at a time where there is no flight traffic, then you can check the entire movement of flight for a particular day by selecting a required past day from the drop down list box. To use this service you require a Flash based browser.
