Google is now gearing up to launch its own ChromeOS supported notebooks. This OS has been tested in the OS Development , Google Head quarters. To bring in this operating system to notebooks, Google has already started contacting the notebook makers for Chrome OS.
According to the latest info, Google Chrome OS notebooks will use NVIDIA Tegra platform and ARM CPU design. This x86 architecture compatible OS will support virtualization on selected devices. In addition, it will support 10.1 inch TFT Multi touch display with HD quality.
A 64GB SSD storage will be offered along with 2GB RAM packing. It has other special features like WiFi, Bluetooth, USB ports, Ethernet port, integrated webcam, 3.5 mm audio jack, multimedia card reader, etc. Google’s notebook will be priced at $300 which is Rs.14,400 approx. and it is expected to hit the markets by late 2010.
Probably, Acer would roll out these Google Chrome OS first.
